iphone SE IOS10 cannot open folder

Reported by pgmer6809 | November 2nd, 2016 @ 11:08 PM

Running MINT 18 (based on Ubuntu 16.04) with libimobile version 1.2.0 installed. Cinnamon Desktop
iphone shows up in NEMO (the file manager) and it even looks like it s mounted (eject arrow shows up) but no flles appear in the dialog window.
Trying to import pictures wth PIX says cant open folder.
IPHONE under SETTINGS=>GENERAL=>About=>VERSION shows 10.0.2 (14A456)
I have unlocked the phone with my passcode before pluging into USB port, the Phone asks me if I want to trust the computer or not and I choose Trust.
But other than being able to 'see' the iphone there does not seem to be able to get at any files.

    I'm seeing something very similar on Ubuntu 14.04 with 10.0.2 on an iPhone 5S. I can see the phone in the File manager, but can't open it/view files.

    In a terminal idevicepair {pair,validate} work, but ideviceinfo gives an error: GnuTLS error: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received.
