ipheth stopped working after upgrading iOS to 7.1.1 from 6 on iPhone5
Reported by aldente | May 21st, 2014 @ 07:01 AM
On Fedora 20 (Kernel 3.13.9-200.fc20.x86_64), libimobiledevice-1.1.5-3.fc20.x86_64 had been working fine with iPhone5 running iOS 6 before I upgraded it to iOS 7.1.1.
After the upgrade, Personal Hotspot fails to be active with tthe syslog showing the following lines:
May 21 07:31:02 localhost kernel: [ 768.703903] ipheth
3-3.2:4.2: ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout
May 21 07:31:02 localhost kernel: ipheth 3-3.2:4.2:
ipheth_tx_timeout: TX timeout
Rebooting the laptop, stopping and starting personal Hotspot, turning on/off Airplane Mode and unplugging/plugging the USB cable do not change the situation. Is there any trick to get it working after iOS upgrade?
What log entries would indicate an issue with firmware or iOS function, libiphone or any other Linux libraries in this situation?
Thank you for your help.
