ipod touch 2g not seen in music programs

ideviceinfo sees the ipod, nautilus sees the ipod, but it is absent from the open file dialog in gtkpod and is also not seen in rhythmbox or banshee.

Distro? gtkpod/rhythmbox and libgpod version?

Thanks, however music synchronization is not handled by libimobildevice.

It is handled by libgpod and thus you should use the bugtracker of that project:

Since you report that Nautilus "sees" the iPod, you have setup libimobiledevice just fine.
