idevicebackup2 fail to reboot the iOS6 device

#304

Hi,

Using an iOS6 device, I can backup and restore using idevicebackup2 but when I restore with the --reboot --system --settings options the device shutdown but do not start.

Last logs :

...
Sending '3d301d4e39ged89...122eb04f52ac/90176e3195a72da547f605a375757e0351a9a4b2' (142 Bytes)
[==================================================] 100% Finished
The device should reboot now.
Restore Successful.

Right after I can see the Apple logo on the device and then the device goes off.

I tested with the master (Nov, 19, 2012). Are you planning to fix it ?

Thanks a lot

Just made a test with idevicebackup2 revision c366b98bc7c7e414ba03471720af6acbdd399dcf from git and the options you describe and restore of iOS 6.0.1 worked. The device rebooted just fine.

Please repeat the command but use the "-d" argument and attach the log of the output.
Please also describe what kind of device you are trying to backup and if it is jailbroken.

    Martin,
Here attached the logs during the restore from idevicebackup2 and idevicesyslog. I also attach the device logs during the restore.
I have to press the sleep button about 3 or 4 times before the device show the restore progress bar and finally start.
    Thanks

Thanks, this is pretty comprehensive information.
From the logs all appears correct and shows that the restore worked fine.
As the device even is even shutdown as you describe, we can't do much more than that.

I think the issue is rather an iOS bug or your device specifically as we don't have control about the reboot process except that we tell the device "if you are done, please reboot". We expect the internal backup code on the device to do so.

    Is your device jailbroken?
