iPAD give no sign of being interacting with my Ubuntu 10.04 laptop
Reported by maurizio ribera d'alcala' | April 27th, 2012 @ 03:48 PM
I installed the latest version of libimobiledevice on my Lifebook S6410 under Ubuntu 10.04. When I connect my iPAD-1 nothing happens.
with lsusb I can see it as
Bus 002 Device 007: ID 05ac:12a2 Apple, Inc.
after connecting i get from dmesg
[22657.370148] usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd
and address 9 [22657.527517] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 4
choices
and nothing else
what could be the problem?
thanks in advance, maurizio

Please provide the version of libimobildevice you have installed (probably too old juding from Ubuntu 10.04) and the iOS version you have installed on the device.
Also helpful might be a log of the output of "ideviceinfo -d".

You are most likely not running the usbmuxd daemon thus this issue is about your configuration, not really about a bug in libimobildevice.
