That long message is a good sign. Your iphone or ipod touch should now be mounted on /mnt by default. I recommend adjusting the settings at the top of the scrip...

Yes, mostly. Exceptions can be created, but of course the documentation should not assume that.

Here is my first perl script. Run it, plug in your iphone or ipod touch, press enter and voila! Press enter again and it unmounts.
