Undefined symbols for architecture

I was installing libimobledevice on my mac (Mavericks) when i encountered this error:
Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64:
"debugbuffer", referenced from: afcdispatch_packet in afc.o
afcreceive_data in afc.o
afcfile_lock in afc.o
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see
invocation)
make[2]: *** [libimobiledevice.la] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
I have searched and searched but can not find a solution. Can anyone please help?
