Files In /User/Media/ are deleted if iPod if plugged in a long time.

Hey all,
Yesterday I installed the latest packages required for iPod support
on Arch Linux.
I followed this guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ipod#The_iFuse_Way-iPhone_OS_3.x_and_4.x
After doing that and restarting the computer, I could plug my iPod
in, mount it with Nautilus (using gvfs) and sync music to my
iPod.
Everything worked well when I did the initial sync and smaller
syncs for a short period afterwards (music played, even album art
was present).
After about three hours, I turned off my computer and went out for
a bit.
When I came back, I turned my computer on, plugged the iPod in, and
was greeted with "This Device Is Not Initialized" in Rhythmbox.
I restored my iPod in iTunes on an iBook and tried the whole lot
again with largely the same result.
I am running the latest versions of all the tools mentioned in the wiki article and have iOS 4 on my iPod Touch 3G. I did not sync music prior to connecting it to Rhythmbox.

Could you describe what files in /User/Media dissappeared? All or just your music?
If the latter is the case this is not relevant to libimobiledevice.
Please check with the gtkpod/libgpod project which is responsible for actually updating the music database: http://www.gtkpod.org/wiki/Home
