KDE integration.

#145

Is it possible to have under KDE similar integration to the one Gnome has?

I'm on OpenSuse 11.2 and have the following packages installed from the FunkyM:iphone.repo repo:

ifuse (1.0.0-3.2)
iproxy (1.0.4-5.1)
libgpod-doc (0.7.93-2.1)
libgpod-python (0.7.93-2.1)
libgpod-tools (0.7.2-2.5)
libgpod4 (0.7.93-2.1)
libgpod4-lang (0.7.93-2.1)
libimobiledevice-devel (1.0.1-2.1)
libimobiledevice-doc (1.0.1-2.1)
libimobiledevice-tools (1.0.1-2.1)
libimobiledevice1 (1.0.1-2.1)
libplist++1 (1.3-9.1)
libplist-devel (1.3-9.1)
libplist1 (1.3-9.1)
libusb-1_0-0 (1.0.2-2.2)
libusb-1_0-devel (1.0.2-2.2)
libusbmuxd-devel (1.0.4-5.1)
libusbmuxd1 (1.0.4-5.1)
plutil (1.3-9.1)
python-imobiledevice (1.0.1-2.1)
python-plist (1.3-9.1)
usbmuxd (1.0.4-5.1)

I have also downloaded, successfully compiled and installed kio_afc by Jonathan Beck.

I'm able to use ifuse to mount my iphone, ideviceinfo and stuff, but there is no KDE integration.
When I plug-in my iPhone KDE only recognizes it as a "USB imaging interface".

This is no bug, we simply have no KDE integration besides the kio_afc work.

For this to become reality, I have no idea how KDE works though, someone probably has to write some handler for KDE's hardware framework "Solid" to auto-mount things using kio_afc.

Patches and contributions highly welcome. :)

Actually, it's not a KDE integration issue, but I suppose it's more of a non-GNOME issue.
KDE infact takes all the events directly from udev, Solid is just a convenient thin layer on top of it (and other backends).

@Riccardo: Yes, but most likely udev events are not enough since the "iDevice" is not a regular mass storage nor block device and KDE must talk to libimobiledevice, no exception. Asides, I am absolutely sure KDE needs some "trigger" in order to use "kio_afc" aswell, it won't just magically do so using udev.

Anyways, since I have no idea how it works with KDE and Solid exactly, patches/hints/contributions are always welcome. :)

The fact that we got the kio_afc thing to work should show that we are interested to also feature full KDE (and other DE) support.
