[PATCH] Improve iFuse error reporting on AFC2 service failures
Reported by Martin S. | January 21st, 2010 @ 11:46 AM
Attached patch fixes some issue people appear to have on forums
using the --root option.
As blackra1n (the 3GS jailbreak) does not setup the AFC2 service
(which btw. is totally non-standard hacky and unsafe for regular
users), iFuse goes into a chaos mode and the stderr fprint notice
is sucked by fuse debugging.
This fixes and improves that situation and of course does not mount at all if the service startup fails.

(from [f97fdbda9e5660186f40cbeaab82ae7bc0bce5b4]) Improve error message on failed root filesystem access and add hint to README
The AFC2 service required to access the root filesystem is non-standard.
It is installed by older jailbreaking software but for instance not by
blackra1n for devices like the 3GS. Now users get a better hint at why
their attempts to use ifuse fail with the --root switch. This also moves
the print to stderr where it actually can be seen by users.[#107 state:resolved] http://github.com/MattColyer/ifuse/commit/f97fdbda9e5660186f40cbeaa...
