usbmuxd appears to be broken

Reported by Genghis Khan | September 17th, 2014 @ 12:40 PM

I am unable to mount an iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1.1) with ifuse.
I am using Salix OS 14.1 (Slackware derivative) with the following SBo packages:

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/system/usbmuxd/ http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/libraries/libimobiledevice/ http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/system/ifuse/

When I attempt to mount iOS 5.1.1 I get this output from usbmuxd:

[08:51:35.260][4] New client on fd 9
[08:51:36.262][4] New client on fd 10
[08:51:36.262][4] Client 9 connection closed
[08:51:36.262][4] Disconnecting client fd 9
[08:51:36.408][4] Connection reset by device 1 (1->62078)
[08:51:36.408][4] Disconnecting client fd 10
[08:52:06.534][4] New client on fd 9
[08:52:07.536][4] Client 9 connection closed
[08:52:07.536][4] Disconnecting client fd 9

idevicesyslog writes:

$ idevicesyslog
usbmuxd_send: Error -1 when sending: Broken pipe
ERROR: Could not start service com.apple.syslog_relay.
Could not start logger for udid <40-digit device UDID>

I used to be able to mount that iPhone device using Salix OS 14.0 with packages for Slackware 14.0 from SBo. Also, as I recall, there used to be a usbmuxd service which does not seem to run in my current installation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Problem is solved after updating to:

ifuse-1.1.3
libimobiledevice-1.1.7
libplist-1.12
libusbmuxd-1.0.10
usbmuxd-1.1.0
