  I'm using idevicerestore to flash the standard iOS7 ipsw onto a handset and fails with the following messages:

  idevicerestore -e iPhone3,3_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw

  Any suggestion please as to how I can fix this?

  You should have read my note correctly, I said "revert" not "revert to".
  Anyways, this is fixed in libirecovery 0.2.0 now.
