libimbiledevice compile error at commit 6370bf5
Reported by Peter | February 7th, 2013 @ 09:13 AM
My System:Mac os x 10.8.2
when i run ./configure, the terminal show:
... checking dynamic linker characteristics... darwin12.2.1
dyld
checking how to hardcode library paths into programs...
immediate
checking for pkg-config... /opt/local/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for libusbmuxd... no
configure: error: Package requirements (libusbmuxd >= 1.0.8)
were not met:
No package 'libusbmuxd' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if
you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables
libusbmuxd_CFLAGS
and libusbmuxd_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
but i have already installed libusbmuxd 1.0.8:
$ ls -l /usr/local/lib/libusbmuxd*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 29412 Feb 7 16:36 /usr/local/lib/libusbmuxd.1.0.8.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 22 Feb 7 16:36 /usr/local/lib/libusbmuxd.2.dylib -> libusbmuxd.1.0.8.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 18 Feb 7 16:36 /usr/local/lib/libusbmuxd.dylib -> libusbmuxd.2.dylib
$ ls -l /usr/local/include/usb*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 2489 Feb 7 16:18 /usr/local/include/usbmuxd-proto.h
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 5496 Feb 7 16:27 /usr/local/include/usbmuxd.h
any idea about it?

- Tag set to mac os x, macports, pkg-config
Fix your pkg-config search path as it is unable to find libusbmux in "/usr/local".
For you, pkg-config is looking only in /opt/local, that's most likely where it should have been installed in the first place when using macports. -

- State changed from new to invalid
- Assigned user set to Martin S.
As I assumed, this is a regular issue people run into when using macports. It is important to set the prefix to /opt/local in the configure step for macports' pkg-config to pick up the libraries fine.
