Ubuntu 10.10 is unable to mount iPod/iPad

Running Ubuntu 10.10 and as in the title libimobiledevice is unable to mount my iPod or iPad.

When plugged in a window appears on screen with the message:
"DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)"

If you need any more information I will be happy to provide it.
